The figure in the light tries to escape from the hands in the darkness that have shackled him.
He struggles against the chains as they tighten and begin to pull him back into the abyss.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
On a scaffold, the Giant at the anvil keeps forging bigger links of chain. Fire and sparks erupt with each hammer blow, showering the floor below.
The chain runs from the anvil down to the figure bathed in light.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Several arms clad in black begin to cover the shackled man. Their weight begins to pull him down until they consume him.
He lies limp as they lift him over their heads.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The carry the man to a scaffold and present him to the Giant.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Another beam of light shoots through the darkness when suddenly a WOMAN climbs her way out of the darkness and into the light.
Hands reach out to shackle her. She breaks free of their grip.
Suddenly beams of light bathe the stage and they gather around the man chained to the scaffold.
He is still.
At first only the woman climbs up the scaffold. She reaches the man and kisses his forehead.
She tries in vain to free him but she cannot.
Suddenly, two figures climb up and help her free the man.
She moves around him and kisses him once, then again, but he doesn't move. He is frozen.
Darkness fills the room again, except for a spot next to the man.
The man starts to stir.
He pulls at the chains, until he breaks free.
He steps into the light and a wave of ecstasy ripples through him. He is free.
