"Drew?"

"I really have nothing to say to you."

He stood in his doorway. He wasn't going to let me in. I didn't blame him.If I thought somebody had betrayed my trust, I wouldn't be inviting him in for tea. I'd be doing what he's doing now.

"Please Drew," I said. "I don't know how they got there. I'm as shocked as you and Eric must be."

"He took it better than I did. He said that we shouldn't get so upset. That maybe you needed extra money or something. He's been quite calm about it really."

Eric calm? Those two words don't go together. He cusses at the paperboy if the Times isn't on the porch.

That just makes me think Eric did it even more.

This should be driving him nuts. He's so possessive of Drew. I've seen him tell Drew to change his pants before they go out because they're too tight and other guys might try to hit on him.

"Eric calmly brought the magazine home and showed the pictures to you?"

"Yes."

"He just happened to buy it?'

"No. Hugo showed it to him."

Damn.

"I didn't sell those pictures. You known I wouldn't do that to you. I'd never betray you like that."

"Why not? You betrayed Hugo with Steve."

"Steve?" I was angry now. "He wanted to be with me. Not Hugo. I can't control-"

"Then go to him because I don't want you living here anymore."

"C'mon, please don't-"

"You're different. Changed. I thought Hugo and I were your friends but I guess not. You stabbed us both in the back. I would give you thirty days but I'm so angry right now...I...I don't want you near me."

"Drew."

"Take your blood money and get away from me."

He threw a wad of paper at me and slammed the door.

"Drew."

I picked up the piece of paper and straightened it out.

It was a check from the magazine for three hundred dollars.

Payable to me.
