Beep.

I was leaving a message for Greg-- even though he didn't want to hear from any homosexuals..

"Hey, Greg. It's me... listen, I have to go to San Francisco but if you see or hear from Eric, do me a favor and tell him I'm in San Diego for the weekend, okay? If you want a complete explanation, give me a call. But since you're entering monk-hood, I figured less is more. Okay, thanks Boy and I'll talk to you when I get back."

I hung up.

I left the note for Eric on the table in the entryway. It read:

I checked my itinerary.

It was identical to Eric's. A round trip to San Francisco. I was nervous as hell, but I knew I could do it.

I borrowed John Daniel's spare car to follow Eric from the house to the airport. I wasn't gonna let him out of my sights for anything!

Eric packed his suitcases and got in his car. He pulled out of the driveway and down the road, and I was off -- following him to LAX.

At the airport terminal, Rebecca Granville looked stunning. Man, that woman could turn heads. All the execs in suits were staring at Rebecca -- for a second I thought, "what a great-looking couple." With one small problem: Eric was queer! And thank God for me.

The steward on my flight was one of those typically cute boys who you know would hop into the sack in a second. He offered me a free beverage... and I reminded him that the beverages were always free. He blushed, "Sorry, it's your eyes, sir... they threw me off."

I had to give him credit for being so forward, even the football jock sitting next to me overheard him, scoffed and went back to his "Sports Illustrated." I held up my hand and showed the flight attendant my wedding ring. He frowned, then smiled, then winked. "San Francisco is a long ways from Los Angeles..."

This guy was persistant. I shook my head. Didn't he realize I was on a top secret assignment?

My plane landed and I waited for Eric and Rebecca to arrive. I would have to rent a car right behind them. I would have to follow them to their hotel.

I was ready.
