Greg is sitting at a table reading his fitness magazine. His body is so damn perfect it'd give Schwarzeneggar a complex. And Hugoâs just steaming my milk and smiling, smiling, smiling...
"He showed up at our house on Christmas morning, Hugo. Christmas morning because he had no where to go, no friends, no family no life -- he's a loser! Can you believe it? He begged us to play in the snow, MY snow. The snow I bought for Drew. Can you believe it? He made me feel like Ebenezer Scrooge just because I wanted to be alone with Andrew on Christmas... And now he's already -- dickering, talking about re-doing the entire guest house, MY guest house. Can you believe it?"
"But tell me, how do you really feel about Greg, Eric?" Hugo is in heaven, seeing me at hot as his steamed milk.
"I'll tell you how I -- " I stomp out to the bathing beauty on sidewalk.
"No, of course it has nothing to do with your old relationship with Andrew, Greg. I just think we're having some growing pains in these first few weeks and ... and... and I think we need a little privacy."
Of course, Greg has an answer for EVERYTHING and informs me he'll hardly ever be there, he's real busy at work, he's got such a hectic social life, and I'm running out of reasons for him NOT to move in...damnit.
"And besides, Eric", he coos. "I really think it'll be a lot of fun, you know, me in the guest house. I'm great company and if I ever get in your way, let me know and I'll vanish. Scout's honor."
"Greg, it's just that -- "
"Hey, you can even borrow some of my dirty video collection."
"What?"
"Well," he says, "since you've tossed all your old ones at work..."
I stop cold. "Greg, I told you -- that video was some patient trying to be an actor. I never even looked at it."
"Oh. That's right. Too bad. Bet he was hot." And he gave me a knowing grin that made me realize that it was a big mistake to let him into the guest house.
