I tried.
I used all my will, all my instincts to forget I'd seen Andrew in the nude, in front of Greg -- posing. I used all my strength and I lost. I was angry. I was furious. I was vengeful.
That's what I thought when I went for the flashlight and snuck out the back door of my home towards the guest house.
I'd done my homework.
I encouraged Drew to have an extra glass of burgundy at dinner. And then one more. Just enough to put him into a deep sleep when he went to bed. I saw Greg leave -- out on the town with some losers, I'm sure. I had time now, I had time to find those pictures.
What I'd do with them when I found them... I didn't know yet. But there I went.
I was amazed how well I could see in the dark. I'd forgotten how well our eyes adjust.

Nervous?
Not too. God, this was hardly breaking and entering. I owned the damn place, what would the police do if they caught me?
"Excuse me, but I live here -- officer!"
Then why was my hand shaking as I put the key in the lock.
I stepped into the guest house, it was dark. Damn it, I'd reminded Greg over and over and over to always leave a light on, because of burglars. It was dark. I went to punch the security code in the system and noticed -- the idiot had left it off.
I'll kill that dork.
Okay, where would a mental midget like Greg hide pornographic photos of my lover?
My search began.
My search ended abruptly.
I heard a car dropping someone off. Greg?
I snuck out the back door of the guest house as Greg came in the front. He switched on the light, looked around....
"Hello?"
I had left the door open to make a quick exit...
"Hello?"
I was shaking as I looked in the window while Greg scanned the room to see what had been stolen. Hey, there was an idea -- next time I'd rip his stuff off -- that'd teach him a lesson for not leaving the security system on.
Of course, Greg relaxed. He figured he'd left the front door open himself. He shut the door, stripped down to his underwear and began devouring... tofu.
As much as I wanted to punch him in the face for what he'd done with Andrew -- I didn't. I just watched him scratch himself, drink some rice milk and saunter off to bed.
I didn't find the pictures.
But I knew I would.
