There must be a thousand of the hottest men in Los Angeles all in this one room -- wish we were on board a ship and taking a cruise for the rest of time!!
Oh, there's Mark Fitzgerald. Hah! Alone. Or is he? No, that's a pretty hot guy he's with. I should go say hello.
Where's Andrew? Probably off with Greg somewhere. Boy, he looks amazing in the suit. I know heads turned when we walked in tonight. Even Hugo gave me a look of "You Go Girl". Made me a little bit nuts when that guy grabbed Drew's crotch -- but he was drunk and Drew was good about getting rid of him. Drew's good at that.
"Mark!"
He sees me, speaks to his "date" and moves over. Wow! What a tux.
"Where's your better half?", he laughs and gives me a nice hug. I'm feeling like quite the fool now -- a week ago, I was hiring a detective to follow this poor guy and tonight he couldn't be any friendlier.
"He's around, probably cruising all the hot guys. Can you believe it, Mark? This is some turnout."
"Yeah, let's dance later."
I nod in agreement and we separate to look for our respective others. Andrew sure had good taste in men in college, didn't he? Not a trace of anything but class, sophistication, good looks, Chanel for Men, and fine cognac in Mark Fitzgerald. Wonder if he was as well turned out in college. I could just imagine all the women in school drooling over the thought of Andrew and Mark as a couple...All the men, too.
Hey, where the hell is Andrew???
Damnit, it's almost midnight and I haven't seen him in over an hour. Probably holding poor Greg's hand because he has NO LIFE.
Oh, there's Mark again. Maybe he's seen Drew. Wonder where Mark's date has disappeared...Maybe he's with Andrew. Mark seems a tiny bit blitzed...
"Mark, have you seen Andrew?"
"Nope. We're all alone at midnight, Eric." And he moves in real close. Too close.
11:59 and counting....the crowd is crazed. Men are ripping off their jackets, kissing and kissing and kissing.
Mike is in the arms of someone, there's Hugo getting plied with champagne and he doesn't even drink....Andrew is no where. I'm a little worried.
I look back to Mark.
10 - 9 - 8 - 7
I should have know. I should have sensed it.
6 - 5 - 4 - 3
I didn't. I hadn't a clue. It came from nowhere.
2 - 1
Mark is kissing me. Deep and hard.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!
