Steve is well aware the word "lion"is in his name-- and he likes it that way. With his mother killed in a car accident when he was a child, Steve learned of life's cruelty at an early age and how to insulate himself from an unfair world.
Good looking and charming, he has always surrounded himself with people he can attach himself to-- and manipulate for his own gain. If Madonna says her success is all about flirting, Steve's success is all about biting hold of someone and never letting go until, like the lion, his prey is dead.
And then he eats his victim.
Control is the motivation and power the rush, with little remorse other than to strike quickly and move forward. After all, life has a harder time catching up with you if you're moving at an untraceable pace.
He's had girlfriends and boyfriends-- and while he prefers boys-- finds it's easier to seduce women. They give him a "connection"to a safer world-- a place where he can be the man and be respected for it. Until they get to know him too well and then it's time to dump them.
Having found his natural father Hugo recently, Steve is attempting to clean up all of life's questions and turn his last remaining insecurities into a fortress of power and strength. By using Hugo's friends, Steve can stake claim to the ultimate win over an absent father and his life of loneliness.
And then? Perhaps Steve will change-- and no longer be the lion that he thinks he needs to be. After all, it's exhausting.
But he just can't help himself. He would definitely rather eat than be eaten.
