"Where the hell have you been?" asked Juliet. "I've been calling you for days."

I wasn't quite sure how to answer that.

If I told her the truth that I was involved with two rouge cops, a shoot out at a drug dealers warehouse, and then wired by other police to bring the first two to justice-- I think she would either have fired me and called the loony bin or called the loony bin and then fired me. "I had to help a friend move to Frisco. I thought you didn't need me to work for a few more days?"

"I don't. Two of my best students have an audition with a small company and they want you to help them."

"Why would they want me?"

"I believe you've met them."

We walked into the studio.

I wasn't sure who she was talking about. With everything going on the last few days, I don't recall meeting any of her students.

We stepped into the large rehearsal room.

At the far end of the hall were two dancers warming up. Now I remember. It was those two kids from the night I did the buy for Friday and Gannon.

I wanted to thank them. After working out with them, I took the rest of the coke and flushed it down the toilet. I'd been down that road and I certainly didn't need to go there anymore.

They saw me and the girl got up, crossing towards me.

"You came to help?" the girl asked. "I'm glad."

"You finally showed up," said the boy. "We only have an hour till the try out."

The girl took me by the hand and I joined them in their warm-ups and then on some routines. As we danced, the thoughts I had the last time I was sitting between them came back to me. I thought then it was just the coke talking. I realized now that it wasn't.

Watching their hard bodies sweating, hearing the grunts of air escaping them as they did the routines, I felt myself wanting to be in a large bed with them.

I had to shake those ideas out of my head.

Then the music stopped.

The three of us turned and looked at where Juliet stood.

Next to her was one of the most beautiful women I'd ever seen.

"Julie," she purred. "I thought you only had two dancers you wanted me to see?"

"I do, Leah. Mike Orlando is one of my teachers here."

She looked me up and down. "I'd like him to audition also."

I looked at her and the thoughts I had earlier disappeared.
